A Slow Travel Story

In March 2020, I resigned from my position as a Front Office Manager of a boutique hotel and signed on as a hotel consultant, gaining the flexibility to set off on full-time travels. The Adventure Beyond is this story and I am excited to share the journey with you!

The adventure continues, in a different direction. I spent the majority of May on my first task force contract in the Coachella Valley in southern California. It feels good to be working again, but also exhausting which means little energy and time for exploring. The experience is still quite amazing to be able to see more of my home country, and be earning an income again in order to save for the next round of international adventures.

It feels quite surreal to be back in the United States after spending a year and a half overseas. Midway through April I made the journey from Santiago back to San Francisco where I spent a week catching up with some friends and closing out my PO Box. After that, I spend a little more than a week back in Connecticut where I was able to see my two youngest nieces again as well as my brother and his fiance. In order to readjust to life in this country, I kept the past two weeks pretty relaxed and stepped away from all of my projects.

Hello Adventurers! Welcome to the 18th month of this long-term slow travel journey. This also unfortunately is the final few weeks before I return to the United States for a while. It has been an incredible experience though the funds are starting to get low so I need to earn and save again before more international adventures can happen.

Chilean Flag
Adopted on 18 October, 1817, the Chilean Flag is also referred to as the Lone Star Flag, in similar fashion to the state of Texas whose flag is often confused. Flag Day is held on July 9 every year, commemorating the 77 soldiers who died in the 1882 Battle of La Concepcion.
