Galapagos Giant Tortoise

One of the most well-known creatures from the Galapagos Islands is the Giant Tortoise. The name of the islands comes from the Spanish word for tortoise, Galapago. The are the largest living species of tortoise, with some specimens weighing up to 919 pounds (417 kilograms).
